Pergamano Scissors or Cutters
White Pencil Eraser (ACC-PE-30670-XX)
Teal Parchment (GRO-AC-41403-A4)
Waimea Falls Designer Paper (ACC-CA-30892-88)
Pergacolours No’s 1 & 14 (PER-CO-70060-XX)
Pergamano yellow brads (PER-AC-70270-XX)
Clarity roller tape (ACC-MS-31065-XX)
Groovi tabs (GRO-AC-40437-XX)
7×7 white card blank (ACC-CA-30619-77)

METHOD

Step 1. With the shiny side of the parchment facing you, emboss the outer dots design and the line inside them on the A5 plate (which comes with the plate mate).  To get the white dots press into the dots on the plate with either the 1.5 Pergamano tool or the No 2 Groovi tool.

Step 2. Using the No 1 Groovi tool emboss the two lines in the centre of the A5 plate.

Step 3. Using the No 1 Groovi tool emboss the larger of the flowers on the accessories plate in each corner of your design omitting the shapes inside the petals and the circles at the ends of them.

Step 4. Emboss the matching smaller flowers between your corner flowers.

Step 5. Emboss the diamond and dots pattern in the top left corner of the sampler plate inside the centre square of your design.

Step 6. Emboss the flower and dots design from the bottom left corner of the sampler plate between the flowers in the border of your design.

Step 7. To make the pattern work around the border remove your parchment from the plate, realign a couple of rows of your embossed flowers in a couple of rows on the plate and emboss the next rows, repeat this in the border and you will be able to match them up when you get back to where you started.

Step 8. Use the pencil eraser to take out the colour in the centre of each flower and in the double outline border of the centre square.  Colour these areas with the yellow Pergacolour No 1.

Step 9. Turn your work over and align the dots in the outer border with the holes in the grid.  Use the 1 needle bold tool to perforate in and around the dots.

Step 10. Still working from the front of your parchment perforate around the inside of each petal with the 2 needle bold tool.  Make your first perforation and then relocate the first needle in the last hole you made and perforate the next hole, this will give even spacing of your perforations.

Step 11. Picot cut the inside of each petal.  Keep your scissors over the waste piece of parchment while you are doing this to get picots inside the petals.

Step 12. Picot cut the outer perforations of the grid design.  Cut the wider gaps first and then the narrower ones to produce nice even picots.

Step 13. Trace the butterfly from Linda’s accessories plate using the No 1 Groovi tool on a spare piece of the Teal parchment.

Step 14. Emboss the dots in the lower wings using ball tools.  On the back of the parchment erase the colour from the teardrop shapes in the upper wings and colour with yellow Pergacolour No 1, colour the head and body with Pergacolour No 14.

Step 15. Perforate around the butterfly and antennae using the two needle bold tool and cut out.

Step 16. Add glitter to the wings using the mapping pen and sticky ink.

Step 17. Cut the Waimea Falls paper to 6”x6” and attach your finished piece to it using yellow brads.  Use the Clarity roller tape to attach this to your card blank.  Place small dots of Perga glue behind the head, body and antennae of the butterfly and attach to the centre of your card.

And now for the finished piece… Ta Da!

Thank you, Josie! That is absolutely stunning. Don’t you all agree? I do love these step by step projects… they make these epic cards so achievable.
